CBC Radio Profiles Historic Murrayville

Langley Heritage Society President, Fred Pepin speaks on the challenges and eventual triumph of saving the intersection and much of the built heritage that surrounds it today.

Another Great Season Coming Soon at CN Station!

                      Fort Langley’s CN Station drew more than 8,000 people inside its vintage railcars and many more thousands soaked up the ambience of the cars and 1915 station building at the corner of Mavis and Glover Road. Thank you to Langley Heritage Society volunteers, led by Bays Blackhall and Gerry Landsman, along with summer student staff for putting out the welcome mat. The visitors’ season officially runs from Victoria Day weekend in May until Thanksgiving, but you’re welcome to walk the platform anytime. Watch a video about the station here:

LHS Speakers

LHS president Fred Pepin welcomed 50 people who filled Milner Church to hear community heritage partners speak about upcoming activities on February 18th. Warren Sommer outlined his new Great War book, Canucks in Khaki; Allan Snowie from the Museum of Flight detailed a project to build two Sopwith aircraft and fly them during 100th anniversary commemorations this spring at Vimy; Maureen Pepin described the new We Are Kwantlen exhibit at the Langley Centennial Museum; Doris Riedweg outlined plans for a new archival project from the Langley Memorial Hospital Heritage Committee; Brigitte Wieronski zeroed in big plans at the Fort Langley National Historic Site during this sesquicentennial year, and Todd Davidson looked ahead to activities at the BC Farm Museum.
