Sperling Methodist Church is located at 7206 240th Street. In 1910 the village of Sperling was established as a flag stop on the British Columbia Electric Railway line. The next year the Reverend F. L. Carpenter was appointed, and he oversaw the building of the church, opened in 1912. The hall was added to the back in 1953. The church closed to services in 1969, and it was turned over to the Township of Langley in 1973. It was later restored by the Langley Heritage Society.
