Explore Murrayville

Murrayville was originally called Murray's Corners, until the post office changed the name in 1911. It's one of the oldest communities in Langley, and  well worth a visit -- beginning at Porter's at the Five Corners (now a roundabout). Take the Murrayville Walking tour HERE. The Old Yale Road was once part of the route to the gold rush. The former Murrayville Garage is on the right. (Built in early 1900s) Up the hill are two homes restored and managed by the Langley Heritage Society -- including the Lamb/Stirling House, built 1910 - 1912 by David Lamb. More about the house HERE.

Step Inside St George’s

Historic St George's Church in Fort Langley is frequently open for tours. Built in the Carpenter Gothic style in 1900 (using local wood), a parish hall was added, and the church extended in 2003. Carpenter Gothic style. Beautiful wood construction, materials came from BC Mills.         The blue glass on the lower left of the Christ figure was once broken by local kids and repaired using Vick's bottles.               Don't forget about our Fort Langley and Murrayville walking tours HERE.

Thanks for thinking of us!

Trio of CN engines in Montreal: 6018 Northern steam engine, diesel FPA and the Turbo. Which one pulled you along? Thank you to Brent Pears from Bowen Island who donated two photographs that help us tell more of the CN story. They were given in memory of his father, William Bruce Pears, a CN air brake machinist at Pointe-St-Charles in Montreal. You can see them hanging in the passenger car at the Fort Langley Heritage CN Station.
