Salishan Place By The River Public Feedback

Salishan Place By The River is beginning to look a lot like a building! Large slabs of precast concrete continue to be lfted into place; the lower parking area now has two floors above it for museum space and the Fort Langley Library, a third level will include a small auditorium. If you missed the recent open house learn more by following this link HERE.  Public feedback is welcome until June 23rd. Basketry and hints of cedar are embedded in the exterior wall design. Local architecture firm Site Lines designed Salishan Place By The River which is expected to open in the summer of 2023.

Historic CNR Station Reopens!

It's been a long two years due to the pandemic, but the historic Fort Langley CNR Station has reopened for 2022. Tour the ticket office and freight room, weekends from noon until 4 pm and on Holiday Mondays. “Wheels of Time” Production Released!

Wheels of Time is a whimsical story that highlights Langley's people and events between 1910 and 1969, with a focus on the heritage CNR Station (built in 1915). Produced by Brigitte Seib and the Creative Compass Society, with music by Tom Hammel, the short film touches on the lives of Station Agent Richard Simpson and his wife Mary; Langley's first doctor, Benjamin Marr; builder Billy Brown; butcher Jacob Haldi and his wife Jesse; farmer Hamilton Edge; British war bride Lois Bowling and her husband Ross; and the famous Flood of '48. Back Together

After two years of pandemic isolation members of the Langley Heritage Society gathered on May 13th for the 2022 AGM at the Fort Langley Community Hall. It was a wonderful evening, with live music performed by Tom Hammel, a screening of the new Wheels of Time production and a book draw.
